French club Bordeaux have released a statement thanking veteran striker Andy Carroll after he announced his departure from the club, despite still having a contract until 2026.

Last summer, the former England striker surprised everyone by joining bankrupt Bordeaux, who were demoted to the French fourth tier of the National 2 league, on a wage of just £750 a week – barely enough to cover his expenses.

However, Carroll insists his arrival สมัคร UFABET วันนี้ รับเครดิตฟรีสำหรับสมาชิกใหม่ was all about enjoying the game, scoring 11 goals in 21 appearances as the team finished fourth in Group B, 11 points behind the promoted champions.

Bordeaux said in a statement about Carroll’s departure: “Andy arrived at Bordeaux last summer eager to take on a new challenge and has shown his full commitment from day one.”

“On the pitch, the England forward has scored 11 goals in 21 league games, but more than that Andy brings experience, physicality and a great professionalism to his role every day, both in the dressing room and on the big games.”

“Off the pitch he is a personable and generous person who both the fans and the club staff enjoy working with.”

“Today, Andy has chosen to return home to be closer to his children. We fully understand and respect this personal decision. Thank you for everything, Andy. This will always be your home. Have a safe trip and see you again soon.”

While Carroll posted a simple reply on the club’s official X channel, with the caption “I love you” in French.
